Lake Lure Flowering Bridge

2992 Memorial Hwy. (US 64), Lake Lure, NC 28746

The Lake Lure bridge was built in 1927 as a thoroughfare that connected the town of Lake Lure to Chimney Rock. In 2011, the bridge was replaced by a new bridge. Community volunteers decided to preserve and enhance the historical 155 foot arched bridge by creating it into gardens for the public to enjoy. The gardens were designed and planted and the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge was opened in 2013 as "A Gateway to Somewhere Beautiful". The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge has over 30 artistical created gardens spanning one acre to enjoy. The Bridge is a member of the American Public Gardens Association and is recognized as a certified Monarch Waystation, Wildlife Habitat and as part of the Rosalynn Carter Butterfly Trail. The Flowering Bridge is free to visit and is open all year round. The Lake Lure Flowering Bridge is supported and maintained by volunteers and donations. Over 30 planted gardens including a dog garden and children's garden. Free admission and parking year round. Special holiday activities and seasonal events. Educational events and classes.
