Join us for one of America’s oldest forms of music. For more than 18 years singers from across the region have gathered at St. John’s Historic Church in Rutherfordton to keep the tradition vibrant and alive. This is a unique musical practice! Participants sit facing one anther in a square exchanging a cappella harmonies evokes passion, praise, tears and joy in singers and listeners alike. The annual event occurs on the second weekend in December, Saturday, featuring Sacred Harp singing (four shapes). And on Sunday Christian Harmony (seven shapes). Free and open to the public. Bring your covered-dish for dinner on the grounds, both days, at noon.
